Organic growth and SEO lead

Build the first repeatable organic growth system for BoastIndex, BoastImage, and the SaaS products that follow.

Hands-on roleEarly-stage productsPortfolio-wide

About the role

SaaS Experts builds and operates a small portfolio of software products. Two current products are BoastIndex, which monitors the Google index status of important URLs, and BoastImage, a visual feedback and collaboration app for web pages, images, and PDFs. More products may be added over time.

Both products are new. They have no customers yet, very little market exposure, and essentially no marketing history. There is no established audience or proven growth engine waiting for you to optimize.

For the right person, that is the appeal. You will help create the first meaningful search visibility, relationships, referrals, conversations, and customers. You will have room to test ideas, influence positioning, see which audiences respond, and build a system that future products can use. Some early assumptions will be wrong. Part of the job is finding that out quickly and turning what you learn into a better approach.

We are looking for a hands-on organic growth marketer with real SEO expertise. Earned off-site growth is the main emphasis. You will spend much of your time building relationships and finding credible ways for our products to be discussed, reviewed, recommended, cited, and shared. You will also manage our Jekyll marketing sites, handle routine technical and on-page SEO work, and improve visibility in conventional search, answer engines, and AI-assisted search.

This is not a role for publishing generic blog posts at volume or sending thousands of templated emails. It combines website ownership, technical SEO, search strategy, research, relationships, and distribution.

The budget and operating reality

Treat the discretionary marketing budget as zero until the products begin generating revenue. Paid advertising is not part of the plan at this stage. The strategy cannot depend on sponsorships, paid placements, purchased links, expensive agencies, or a large collection of paid tools.

Progress will come through sound technical work, useful assets, direct relationships, earned coverage, community participation, and careful use of the resources we already have. We do not expect free traffic to appear quickly. We do expect honest prioritization, resourcefulness, and a willingness to build the foundations before the numbers are impressive.

What you will do

  • Build an organic growth plan for each product based on its audience, positioning, search demand, strongest assets, and market presence.
  • Research useful articles, comparisons, review sites, directories, newsletters, podcasts, communities, creators, and authors.
  • Develop thoughtful approaches for product briefings, demos, reviews, interviews, collaborations, expert input, and early access without relying on paid endorsements.
  • Earn accurate inclusion in relevant reviews, roundups, resource pages, comparisons, directories, and editorial coverage.
  • Reclaim unlinked mentions, pursue legitimate broken-link opportunities, and find resource pages where one of our products or guides fills a real gap.
  • Build relationships with consultants, agencies, educators, publishers, creators, complementary software companies, and community organizers.
  • Participate in relevant communities as a useful, identifiable person. Answer questions, share evidence, and disclose your connection to our products when it matters.
  • Plan and manage product social activity. Where agreed, help the founder turn product work, research, lessons, and opinions into useful posts.
  • Manage our public Jekyll sites and make routine changes to pages, templates, metadata, internal links, redirects, structured data, sitemaps, and configuration.
  • Find and fix technical or on-page problems that materially affect discovery, interpretation, and conversion.
  • Develop a practical AEO and AI search strategy based on clear answers, consistent product information, identifiable expertise, original evidence, and credible external citations.
  • Keep product profiles, directory listings, review information, screenshots, descriptions, and links accurate.
  • Track qualified leads, trials, activation, paying customers, and the work that influenced them.
  • Bring market feedback to the founder and product team, including recurring questions, objections, missing proof, and ideas for useful assets.

What good work looks like

Qualified leads, trials, and paying customers are the final test. Rankings, backlinks, mentions, traffic, community activity, social reach, and AI search visibility help explain progress, but they are not the end result.

Our products should appear in more of the places qualified buyers already use for research. Relevant creators, authors, and community voices should understand the products well enough to discuss them accurately. The sites should stay technically sound and easy for search engines and answer systems to interpret.

We also want to know why the numbers move. Outreach should be researched and personal. Community participation should create trust instead of promotional noise. Even a campaign that does not produce an immediate placement should leave us with better relationships and better market knowledge.

What we are looking for

  • Experience growing a software product, online business, or specialist brand through SEO, digital PR, partnerships, community work, creator outreach, or a similar mix.
  • Strong technical and on-page SEO knowledge, with the ability to implement the work rather than only recommend it.
  • Experience maintaining static or code-managed sites. Direct Jekyll experience is strongly preferred, including Markdown, front matter, Liquid templates, configuration, redirects, and a Git-based publishing workflow.
  • A practical view of AEO and AI search. You understand that visibility depends on accessible content, clear claims, useful answers, original evidence, consistent references, and ongoing observation.
  • Examples of relevant coverage, product inclusion, links, partnerships, community contributions, or referral traffic you personally helped earn.
  • Strong research and judgment. You can distinguish a relevant opportunity from a site that happens to accept pitches.
  • Clear writing and good judgment when approaching authors, editors, partners, and communities.
  • Enough off-site SEO knowledge to assess relevance, link quality, search intent, anchor-text risk, and citation value.
  • Comfort learning technical products and explaining them without exaggeration.
  • Good record keeping and follow-through across many small conversations.

Experience in technical SEO, website operations, design collaboration, SaaS, digital PR, review ecosystems, or developer and marketer communities would be useful, but no single one is required.

This role is probably not a fit if

  • Your main strategy is bulk cold email, paid links, private blog networks, fake accounts, undisclosed incentives, or AI-generated personalization at scale.
  • Your plan depends on paid advertising, sponsorships, an outside agency, or expensive tools before the products have revenue.
  • You measure success by output volume or vanity metrics without considering relevance and downstream results.
  • You can recommend site changes but cannot maintain a Jekyll site or implement routine technical work yourself.
  • You want to work on one channel in isolation or need a large team to supply every idea, contact, and draft.

Your first 90 days

In the first month, you will learn the products and likely audiences, document the starting search and market baseline, review the Jekyll sites for material problems, map competitors and discovery sources, and prioritize authors, influencers, reviewers, communities, partners, and publications. You will also set up simple reporting that connects the work to leads, trials, and customers.

In the second month, you will run small, researched campaigns across the strongest off-site opportunities. At the same time, you will address the most important site issues and establish the first AEO and AI search measurement routine. We will review responses and product activity before increasing volume.

By the end of month three, we should know which organic approaches deserve continued effort. You should have a repeatable working rhythm, early placements or useful conversations, a better presence in relevant discovery channels, and a clearer view of the proof or assets future campaigns need.

How to apply

Email jasen@saasexperts.co with:

  • A short introduction and why this portfolio interests you.
  • Two or three examples of organic growth or SEO work you personally handled. Include at least one technical or on-page example and one earned off-site example. Explain the situation, what you did, and the result.
  • A short description of a Jekyll, static, or code-managed marketing site you maintained and the changes you implemented without developer help.
  • An example of how you approached AEO, AI search visibility, or another new search surface without making claims the evidence could not support.
  • An example of outreach, community participation, partnership work, or creator outreach that shows how you communicate with people.
  • A brief note on how you would spend your first month learning two different products.
  • Your location, availability, preferred working arrangement, and compensation expectations.

We do not need a speculative campaign or unpaid marketing plan. We do need enough detail to understand your judgment and your own contribution to the examples you share.
